Adopt-A-Gran:
Personal Information:
Joseph Seloi(AH)
Birthday: 1928
Sex: Male
Country: Haiti
Case History:
Joseph is 80 years old and resides at St. – Joseph because he is unable to care for himself and is without a family. He is separated and had two children that are unfortunately deceased. Joseph is a Catholic and speaks Creole but is illiterate. Joseph used to work as a carpenter but can no longer work due to his health and thus has no source of income. Without any source of income and with no pensions system in Haiti, day-to-day life is a constant struggle.
Joseph is hyperopic and suffers from tooth pains. Otherwise, his health is fair.
During the day, Joseph enjoys playing dominos and listening to music. He also likes taking walks downtown. He has no favourite food since he likes all types of foods.
Sponsorship for Mr. Joseph Seloi will ensure that he receives food, clothing and medical attention when necessary. More importantly, it will show him that someone voluntarily cares about his situation.
Aquin is a large town located on the south western coast of Haiti that borders the Caribbean Sea, east of Les Cayes and south of Port-au-Prince. The Foyer Saint-Joseph was originally established by the Sister Pauline Lamontagne for the past 26 years. This home for the destitute and homeless elderly desperately requires our support through the Adopt-A-Gran program. Over the past 8 years, minor repairs and renovations have been completed to the home and, thanks to a large grant given by the Canadian government in 2008, Help the Aged will be completing renovations to the kitchen and health facilities.
