Rosa is a widow, who had four children, but two are now deceased and only one son and one daughter are living. She also has four grandchildren. Her spoken language is Luo and she is a Catholic.

Rosa has been a housewife and a small scale farmer. She has a mentally challenged son and can only work as a casual. As the only breadwinner in the family she is struggling. She suffers from some arthritis and toothaches.  

Rosa is a God fearing grandma who enjoys singing when she is not praying. She plants maize and vegetables which she eats as well as beans and fish. Her parents were rather unkind which maybe why she does not like getting into arguments with people.
